Our Story My name is Mitch Lenett. I've been diabetic since age four. Life with diabetes is all I've ever known. While I've never allowed it to define me, it is indeed what I am - but not who I am. I am a husband, a brother, a son and a father of two beautiful children, Ben and Carly. But on May 23rd, 2008, an event took place that literally took my breath away. On this day, my little three year-old girl, Carly Ann Lenett, was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes ... just like me. After a brief bout with self pity and after absorbing the notion that this was, indeed, my "fault," I clearly saw that I had a choice to make. I could either continue down this path of helplessness and guilt, or I could do something. Take action. I chose the latter, but what could I do? I'm neither a doctor nor a scientist - just a guy on a mission. A mission to do whatever I can, whatever it takes, to help find the cure for this disease for my Carly, and the millions of other children and adults living with diabetes. What can one "regular" guy do, though? Plenty. One person CAN make a difference when that person takes action and encourages and enlists others to do the same. And so, one sleepless night, lying in bed thinking about my "little monkey," Carly, inspiration struck - and Dolce & Banana was born. A life changing mission began. Please join us! Mitch
